Italy. A number of people in Italy protested outside Myanmar’s embassy over Burma’s treatment of Rohingya Muslims.
The head of the protesters, said Monday in a statement that Italians, Arabs and Muslims organized a protest outside the Myanmar embassy against Rohingya’s persecution, genocide and ethnic cleansing. “The protest was licensed and permitted by the Italian authorities,” the statement read.
Also,the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday condemned Myanmar for “systematic brutal acts” against its Muslim Rohingya minority and asked it to accept international monitors.
An estimated one million Muslim Rohingya live in the western Rakhine state. Over 100,000 people were displaced due to an outbreak of communal violence in the area in 2012.
