Russian President Dmitry Piskov announced that the Russian and Turkish presidents are continuing to discuss the Syrian settlement issues, noting that the situation in Idlib is still difficult.
“The situation is difficult in Idlib,” Piskov told reporters, adding that the situation had been discussed for some time in the tripartite formula: Iran, Turkey and Russia.
He said Moscow and Ankara would discuss the issue in a bilateral format. “The situation is complicated, there are some differences in approach,” he said.
Biskov also said contacts between the Russian and Iranian leaders were unplanned, but that could not be ruled out.
“There is no, but it should not be ruled out because the situation requires intensive contacts and dialogue,” he said, in response to a question on contacts between the two presidents.
