Hasan Rouhani reaches Delhi; “India is a living museum of religion”

Iranian President Hasan Rouhani is on a three day visit to India. He reached Hyderabad yesterday and today he has reached New Delhi. The Iran President also said he is hopeful that India will reciprocate by simplifying visa rules for Iranians.

Hassan Rouhani visited the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad today.He has addressed a congregation there and called for unity among all the Muslims. The Iran President said Iran is willing to relax visa norms for Indians and share its “abundant oil and natural gas resources” with India for the progress and prosperity of Indians.

Rouhani emphasised the need of closed ties between the two nations. He has met with Muslim religious scholars of different schools. He said that Muslims should shed their differences and unity to fight against common enemy.

Rouhani clearly said that western world is emploiting human resources of under-developed countries. Rouhani praised the age-old relations of India and Iran and said,”India is a living museum of religion and diverse schools of thought and opportunities. We see temples, other places of worship and peaceful coexistence.”

India and Iran will also discuss about the slow progress of Chabahar Port. Chabahar project is an important project for Iran.
