World Cup 2019: Why Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid walked away from England celebrations?

Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are practicing Muslims and time and again they have been pictured escaping champagne celebrations.

England were crowned new world champions in the most dramatic fashions after the match went to the Super Over which also ended in a tie.

Eoin Morgan’s men were declared winners because the number of boundaries hit came into play.

England’s players erupted in celebration after the historic triumph at Lord’s and wild scenes from the ground were quite visible.

Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid left England’s team celebrations after their World Cup triumph at Lord’s on Sunday when Jonny Bairstow popped the cork and started spraying his team with champagne.

Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are Muslim and their faith forbids them from consuming alcohol. The two spinners were celebrating with the team at the podium but made a hasty exit when Bairstow sprayed the players with champagne.

Both Moeen and Rashid joined their England teammates after the champagne celebration ended.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, England captain Eoin Morgan said the cultural diversity of the players epitomises the team.

“We had Allah with us as well. I spoke to Adil Rashid, he said Allah was definitely with us. I said we had the rub of the green. That actually epitomises our team.

“We’re from quite diverse backgrounds and cultures and guys grow up in different countries. To actually find humour in the situation we were in at times was pretty cool,” Morgan said.

However, a few people on social media said England should have celebrated in a way which made Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid comfortable.
