Sania Mirza gave a befitting response to a fan who tried to question her nationality and her right to comment on anything Indian since she had married a man from Pakistan. The fan’s rude remark, in response to Sania raising her voice against the people who tried to block the probe into the gruesome rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in Kathua, gets a quick retort. Sania’s fast and strong return serve lets the troller know that she is Indian and represents India proudly and also that he has no right to question her thus.

Ace Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, who has been married to Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik, has often been questioned by trolls over her nationality. But Sania, who is a pro when it comes to giving a befitting response to trolls, never shies away from giving a piece of her mind to anybody and everybody who targets her unfairly. Sania came across a similar situation on Thursday when a fan tried to question her nationality once again.

The incident happened after Sania reacted to a tweet where after the rape of an 8-year-old girl, a section of people carried out protests in defence of the accused. Sania tweeted, “Is this really the kind of country we we want to be known as to the world today ?? If we can’t stand up now for this 8-year-old girl regardless of our gender, caste, colour or religion then we don’t stand for anything in this world.. not even humanity.. makes me sick to the stomach.”

Soon after Sania’s tweet, a fan replied, “With all respect madam which country are you talking abt.Last time I checked u had married into Pakistan. You no longer are a Indian. And if u must tweet thn also tweet for the innocents killed by Pak terror outfits..”

Without wasting any time, Sania shot back at the fan as he tweeted, “First of all nobody marries ‘into’ anywhere .. you marry a person! Secondly NO LOW LIFE like you will tell me which country I belong to.. I play for India,I am Indian and always will be.. nd maybe if u look beyond religion and country one day you may just also stand for humanity!”

Sania is currently away from the tennis court due to a knee injury. The winner of six Grand Slam titles, Sania is out of action since October 2017.

“(It will take) a couple of more months. I don’t want to get into technicalities of it but even if there was a surgery there is no guarantee that it is going to get better. It’s basically pain that I need to manage,” Sania said.
