National Conference celebrates Afzal Guru’s son achievement; Galib Azfal Guru 88%


Srinagar: Galib Afzal Guru, the son of Afzal Guru has passed his higher secondary school examination from the Jammu and Kashmir state board with a distinction. JKBOSE declared the results today morning in which Galib has secured 88 percent of marks. He has scored 441 marks out of 500.

He secured 94 in Environmental Science, 87 in Physics, 85 in Biology, 89 in Chemistry and 86 in General English.His achievement is much celebrated because of his family background. His father Afzal Guru was executed in 2013 for his role in Parliament attack in December 2001.

Afzal Guru was arrested when Galib was only 2 years old. The conviction of Afzal Guru gained much media attention. Various political parties have commented about his achievement. Spokesperson of opposition National Conference tweeted about it. She said,”A big shout-out to Ghalib Afzal Guroo on clearing his 12th class exams with flying colours- 441 marks. Ghalib has definitely proven ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going’.

According to Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education officials informed that 33,893 have qualified of the 55,163 candidates. It was held in November last.Overall passing percentage was 61.44%. Girls passing percentage was 64.31% and boys achieved 58.92%.
