Lucknow Youths protested against Israeli PM visit in India; ‘Palestine is an issue of humanity’

Lucknow: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on an India tour. But various groups have started to protest against his visit. This will be the very first tour by any Israeli Prime Minister in India. In Lucknow also, youths have organized a protest on Tuesday.

This protest was held in Hazratganj area in which various pro Palestinian organizations have supported it. Youth Mandate,Student Federation of India, AIDSO, All India Workers Council,Chhatr Chintak Sabha and others supported the event. Traditionally India and Palestine are great friends and Israel is an oppressor nation.

Ameeque Jaamei said in this gathering that the money that India is going to give Israel will fall upon Palestinian kids in the face of bomb. SFI’s Praveen Pandey told that the issue is not a Muslim issue but this is an issue of humanity. Several local activist have attended the gathering.

It is also important to note that even Mahatma Gandhi had given his support to the Palestine. He said,”Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French. It is wrong and inhuman to impose the Jews on the Arabs… Surely it would be a crime against humanity to reduce the proud Arabs so that Palestine can be restored to the Jews partly or wholly as their national home”. India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru never reognised Israel as a state and remained firm for the Palestinian cause.
