Sindh is the land of Sufism, Religious extremism makes shrines unsafe: Bilawal

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has emphasized the need to spread the message of peace and love given by Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

On the occasion of 274th annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, the PPP chairman said that Sindh was the land of Sufism and will remain the same forever.

Bilawal termed his party as the continuity of Sufi thoughts in the modern time as it had also sacrificed its popular leaders in their struggle for the downtrodden.

He said that Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a towering philosopher who promoted brotherhood and tranquillity in society.

The PPP chief further said although terrorists were trying to attack and defeat Sufi landmarks, but wouldn’t be able to do so because Sufism was ingrained deeply in the Indus Valley.

He said we have collected corpses from shrines and that we should spread Sufism to get rid of religious extremism and terrorism. The philosophy of Sufism is not local but universal reality.
