“US does not want peace in Syria, seeks regime change”- Stephen Lendman

Syria has been facing civil war and external forces induced bombings since 2012.

WASHINGTON: American arms and ammunition are heavily pouring into Syria to pave the ground for mercenaries and terrorists to continue the conflict, says a journalist.

“America doesn’t want peace; they want war, they want regime change, they want [Syrian President Bashar] Assad out, they want a puppet regime … replacing the legitimate Syrian government,” Stephen Lendman said on Tuesday.

Despite the achievements by Syria, Russia, Iran and Turkey to find a breakthrough in ending the conflict in Syria, “the war continues” because America wants it to continue, the author and journalist said. Lendman argued that America’s war on terror is a “phony war” since the United States supports terrorism.

On Friday, US Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Nikki Haley repeated Washington’s opposition to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, saying that the US will not be “satisfied” as long as the Syrian leader is in power.
