The Syrian army begins to enter Al-Mayadeen city in the countryside of Deir Ezzor

Beirut. After the Syrian army over the past few hours destroyed the defenses of the ISIS in Al-Mayadeen and extended control of Sokhna-Deir Ezzor road, the army began to enter the eastern parts of Al-Mayadeen city .

A military source said that units of the army cordoned off the elements of “ISIS” inAl-Mayadeen city in the south-eastern countryside and eliminated large numbers of them.

According to “SANA”, units of the army expanded its control in the vicinity of
Al-Mayadeen and within its neighborhoods after the control of the abandoned airport, industrial area and a number of western neighborhoods.

This comes after the army was able to contain the violent attacks in which the organization used a number of car bombs, and strengthened control of the southern outskirts of the city, specifically in the areas adjacent to Al-Rashedeen.

In the meantime, the army units operating on the northern bank of the Euphrates River, opposite the city of Deir Ezzor, controlled the town of Marat al-Fawqa and parts of the village of Hatla Tahtani, as they advanced towards the northern entrance of Al-Syaseya bridge.
