Lebanese PM: I will never go to Syria or meet Assad even if it costs me my job

Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri said that he refuses to visit Syria or meet with Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, under any circumstances, even if that would cost him his position.

“It is impossible that I visit Syria, not now and not in the future… and if Lebanon’s interest requires so, then you could find someone else” Hariri said after a meeting with the Future Movement on Tuesday night.

Hariri said the problems facing the government formation are fabricated by those put obstacles in its way. Hariri rejected claims that President, Michel Aoun is the one who demands a majority government.

Hariri has also denied that the visit by the foreign minister and the president’s brother-in-law, Gebran Bassil to Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri came under Syrian pressure after Bassil described Berri of a “bully” a few months ago.
