With the first 6 months of 2018 coming to an end, it has been tabulated by Human Rights group Amnesty International that BJP governed state of Uttar Pradesh ranks number 1 when it comes to the number of hate crimes committed in the state.
According to the Amnesty Report, it is learned that during the first 6 months of 2018, a total of 100 hate crimes were committed against Dalits, Tribals, Transgenders and religious minority groups.
Out of 100, 18 incidents have occurred in Uttar Pradesh, while 13 have occurred in Gujarat.
Apart from this, Rajasthan saw 8 hate crimes incidents, Tamil Nadu and Bihar saw 7 each. All states governed by the BJP
This does not only prove that BJP leaders do not consider minority groups as important as upper cast Hindu citizens, but this also validates that BJP government itself is extremely uninterested in providing minority groups a safe place to live and grow.
The Amnesty report also pointed out that after the Mob Lynching of Mohammed Akhlaq in Dadri in 2015, 603 different cases of hate crimes have shook the country. The report also mentions that in 2018, in the first 6 months itself 67 hate crimes against Dalits took place and 22 against Muslims.
