19 drown in Uttar Pradesh, as boat capsized in Yamuna river

Nearly, 19 people drowned in Yamuna River as the boat were pull down. According to news the boat were going to Haryana from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. This mishap happened on Thursday morning. It is being said that the number dead people can be rise.

There were 50 people on the boat, while the capacity of the boat was just 35. Ten people swam to safety, meanwhile, 31 passengers are missing.

Boat accidents aren’t uncommon in India. There have been several boat incidents.

This year in January around 23 people were drowned and seven others injured when a boat carrying around 40 people back from a kite festival organised by the state government, capsized in the Ganga river.

Lats year in August, Five Indian fishermen died and 20 are still reported missing after their boats, which had drifted away into Bangladeshi waters during a cyclonic storm, capsized in the rough seas.

May 14, 2016: An overloaded boat capsized, minutes after it set sail from Kalna in Burdwan district and was heading for Shantipur in Nadia. Nineteen bodies were recovered from the Bhagirathi river by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel till 10am on May 16.

September 28, 2015: More than 50 people were feared dead after an over-packed machine boat carrying about 250 to 300 people capsized in Kolohi river in Assam’s Kamrup (rural) district.

November 7, 2014: Ten people, nine of them children, were feared drowned after a boat capsized in the river Ganga at Raalpur Ghat in Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli district. The statistics, not finished here, there have been more incident.
