Adv. Haris Beeran, the renowned lawyer of Supreme Court urged the students of law at AMU, Centre, Malappuram to uphold the Constitution and practice the values for enabling us to emerge as a better society. He was delivering a special lecture on the topic, ‘Constitutional Law:Policies, Issues and Challenges.’
As a part of the invited lecture series, the programme was arranged by the Dept. of Law, AMU, Centre, Malappuram on 10th October,2019. Dr. Faisal.K.P, the director of the Centre presided over the function and reminded the students that learning from lawyers who practice the law before judicial bodies are innovative, meaningful and different from the traditional way of learning things.
Mr. Ghalib Nashter, Co-ordinator welcomed the guest and shared his opinion that students should try for becoming socially spirited advocates like Adv.Haris Beeran who has contributed his excellence on legal knowledge for the society.
Through his lecture Adv. Haris Beeran reminded the students to learn procedural aspects from lower courts so that they can maintain a well-structured line of tracking of cases in High Court and Supreme Court. He also emphasized the need to focus the various socio-political implications of constitutional provisions and the need to go for a deeper analysis of fundamental rights and directive principles enshrined in the Constitution. He stressed the need to respect Indian value system and to work hard for the unity and integrity of the nation. All the faculty members and students of Dept. of Law participated in the function making it a grand success. Many students interacted with the guest through their deliberations and questions.
Dr. Naseema P K, Asst. Professor of Law, Dept. of Law delivered vote of thanks said that the lawyers who play an inevitable role in convincing the judiciary to reach a correct conclusion by their eloquent argument and related research work like Adv. Haris Beeran need to be appreciated.
Mr. Abubacker students of final year (Law) recited Quranic verses while Mr.AbdudDayyanAsad,student of B.A.LL.B third year conducted the programme.
