The Government of India had said these killings took place due to the “law and order disturbance” In 2010 turmoil 112 civilians were killed. 85 were killed in 2016.
According to Ministry, 21 civilians were killed in 2017. On 9 April when poling was held for Srinagar parliamentary segment nine civilians were killed by government forces.
MHA said 10,086 civilians were wounded in three years. 1047 in 2010, 8932 in 2016, and 107 in 2017. MHA further said, four government forces personnel were killed and 14,639 wounded.
Kashmir witnessed 6,266 incidents of stone-pelting in these years said MHA. 2,794 incidents were witnessed in 2010, 2,808 in 2016, and 664 in 2017.
Government of India said 12,650 trouble makers which include separatists were also arrested since 2016.According to the State Government situation is much better than the previous year as 583 cases have been registered this year and 2897 cases in previous year the Ministry states.
MHA said, Governments policy is the same and India will not tolerate anything particularly separating Kashmir from India. And it’s focus is to employ youths in Kashmir.
