The result of Student Union Election of Delhi University (DU) declared today after 42.8% voter turnout was reported on Tuesday. Out of four seats, NSUI succeed to acquired the post of President and Vice-President while the ABVP has managed to win the Secretary post and the Joint Secretary posts. However, the University declared joint secretary for ABVP, the NSUI moving HC asking for a stay on the secretary and joint secretary post.
Rocky Tuseed from NSUI, has won the President post with 16,299 votes and Kunal Sehrawat, NSUI, has grabbed the position of Vice-President with 16,431 votes. On the other hand ABVP’s Mahamedha with 17,156 votes detained the post of Secretary and Uma Shankar with 16,691 votes won the position of Joint-Secretary.
Reacting to the win, NSUI on Twitter said, “A major comeback for us in #DUSU2017, students of DU have given us a huge responsibility to fight for their rights. This mandate is a clear indication that student fraternity have restored their faith in @INCIndia & our beloved leader Sh.@OfficeOfRG. Also this mandate shows that students throughout the country have rejected the poisonous & divisive ideology of RSS. Finally this victory belongs to evry NSUI activist who hv worked tirelessly in DU,specially our mentors
