DU Union Election 2017, will the left wings repeat JNUSU poll results?

The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections is going on today.  RSS’ s Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), National Students Union of India (NSUI), CPI (M)’ s Students Federation of India (SFI) and CPI (ML)’ s All India Students’ Association (AISA) are major competitors for DUSU Elections.

Last year, 2016 ABVP  had won the post of president, vice president and secretary, while NSUI was able to got joint secretary post. DUSU polls will be held on the basis of the constitution of DUSU and Lygdoh committee recommendations accepted by the Supreme Court of India. University of Delhi introduced NOTA in last elections and a large number of voters preferred it. The voting time is from 3 pm to 7:30 pm, while in the morning section  regular – day classes.

It is worth mentioning that Left Union has won all the seats in the recently Union Election of JNU. Meanwhile, the ABVP a powerful force in Delhi University. It was successfully defeated all the parties in the last union election. But this time, it is not easy for ABVP to conclude all the post. Because, all the parties are contesting with full of power and enthusiasm and after the deceleration of JNU union election, the expectation of other parties has been rises.

On the other hand NSUI demand the Delhi University authorities to ensure transparency in DUSU polls will “undermine the legitimacy” of the student body election. NSUI demanded mock voting on all EVMs, installation of VVPAT machines, and appointment of party polling agents to ensure fair polls.
