A group of four to five robbers had allegedly murdered a couple and raped a minor girl and her married cousin. They had also taken all the valuables including the family’s motorbike with them.

The police was alerted to the situation when one of the victims managed to flee somehow. The victim’s statement, which was recorded in haste, also mentioned that the perpetrators were gau rakshaks who had raised suspicion over the victims’ consuming beef.

The State government has now transferred the case to the CBI for further investigation and to determine what course of action has to be taken.
