Modi baba and his 40 thieves: Congress says chowkidar who allowed Vijay Mallya to flee is chor

Attacking the Narendra Modi government, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said Modi baba and his 40 thieves has nothing to show on ground and has lost people’s trust.

The Congress on Tuesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he is a chowkidar (watchman) who allowed Vijay Mallya to flee from the country. Senior Congress leader and party’s national spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said Prime Minister Modi has a team of 40 thieves. Mocking PM Modi’s ‘Main bhi Chowkidar’ drive of Twitter, Surjewala termed it as “Modi baba and his team of 40 thieves”.

“The fact is that the Narendra Modi government has lost the trust of the masses,” Surjewala said.

The comment comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi started a drive on Twitter asking people to add ‘chowkidar’ to their names on their Twitter handle.

He said, “The chowkidar who allowed Vijay Mallya to flle the country is chor (thief).

“Jisne Neerav Modi, Lalit Modi ki bhagaya wo chowkidar chor hai. Jisne mutthi bhar punjipatiyon ko lakhon karodon rupaye ki chori karwayi wo chowkidar chor hai (The watchman who allowed Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi to flee is a thief. The watchman who allowed a handful of capitalists to loot lakhs and crores is a thief,” he said.

Attacking the Narendra Modi government, the Congress said, “Modi baba and his 40 thieves has nothing to show on ground. This is the reason that they have resorted to changing names on Twitter. PM Modi is trying to change slogans, one after the other, just to brand himself.”

Surjewala said PM Modi is an “imposter” who has “looted the people”. “To hide Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s failure, there is an attempt to re-brand him. In 2013, he said black money will be brought to India in 100 days and promised to transfer 15 lakh in the account of all Indians. In 2014, Modi gave the promise of acche din (good days), but nothing has ghappened.”
