Violence killed 51 people after the death of Burhan Wani

Srinagar: 51 people were killed during demonstrations in the Valley after the death of Hizbul Commander Burhani Wani. Burhan Wani was killed by security forces. In addition, more than 9,000 people were injured.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir government, more than six thousand people were injured by the pallet guns. Chief Minister Mahbooba Mufti today said in a written reply to a question posed by National Conference MLA that 51 people died in the Kashmir division from 8 July 2016 to 27 February 2017. 9042 people were injured in the firings of bullets during the period.She said that out of these 6221 people were injured by pallets, 368 by bullets, four by pawa shells and 2449 others.

The Chief Minister said that about 782 people were injured in the eye, of whom 510 were admitted to the hospital. 5197 people injured in the pallet are undergoing treatment in district hospitals and the rest are sent to super specialty hospitals.

According to Mehbooba Mufti, 16 people died in Anantnag district, 13 in Kulgam district, seven in Pulwama and five deaths in Kupwara.
