The National Green Tribunal (NGT) imposed fine on usage of plastic items in Haridwar, Rishikesh. NGT imposed 5,000 rupees fine on people who uses plastic item in Haridwar and Rishikesh.
The Green Tribunal Panelist hear a plea of environmentalist M C Mehta for saving River Ganga from water pollution.Like Delhi,National Green Tribunal (NGT) give an strict order on banning the usage of plastic product near the river area by following the same law NGT ban carry bags, plates and cutlery in towns located near of River Ganga like Haridwar and Rishikesh.
The National Green Tribunal also take strick action against who disobey the law.Earlier,National Green Tribunal (NGT) chairperson Justice Swatantra Kumar has also banned the sale,manufacture and storage this types of items in Haridwar, Rishikesh.
National Green Tribunal (NGT) passed the direction after noting that despite its earlier order, plastic was being used in these areas causing pollution to the river.
