Delhi Police has booked AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and his supporters for disrupting NIA raids in Jamia Nagar.
Delhi Police on Thursday filed a case against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan for disrupting NIA raids in Jamia Nagar. The AAP MLA was booked on the basis of a complaint filed by the NIA DSP, accusing the Delhi legislator and his supporters of preventing public servants from performing the duty.
On Thursday, the NIA carried out searches in two places in Jamia Nagar, including at the premises of former chairman of Delhi Minorities Chairman Zafarul Islam Khan.
As per the NIA complaint filed at the Shaheen Bagh Police Station, the local MLA and his supporters obstructed the central probe agency’s search operation at Charity Alliance, headed by Zafarul Islam Khan.
When the NIA team tried to leave the premises of Charity Alliance, the AAP MLA and his supporters blocked the road and wrongfully restrained the NIA team, the complaint said.
Amanatullah Khan and his supporters also allegedly raised slogans.
In the morning, the NIA had asked the Delhi Police for logistical support before carrying out raids in a case involving select NGOs, trusts and foundations diverting funds for promoting seditious activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
