The three accused had kidnapped and raped the woman a week after she was allegedly raped by former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the Unnao gang rape case. In the chargesheet, the agency has accused three men of kidnapping and gangraping the woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao in 2017.
According to the CBI chargesheet, the three accused had kidnapped and raped the woman a week after she was allegedly raped by former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
The investigation agency has named Naresh Tiwari, Brijesh Yadav Singh and Shubham Singh for kidnapping and raping the victim. One of the accused, Shubham Singh is the son of Shashi Singh, an associate of prime accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
Shashi Singh had allegedly lured the woman to Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s residence on June 4 and is a co-accused in that matter.
All the three accused are out on bail.
The CBI has said the woman was raped by the men on June 11, 2017, when she was a minor. The men gangraped the woman a week after she was allegedly raped by Kuldeep Singh Sengar on June 4.
The chargesheet was filed before District Judge Dharmesh Sharma in the Tiz Hazari court in Delhi.
Notably, this is a case separate from the one of her alleged rape by expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on June 4, 2017, at his residence.
The Delhi court listed the case for October 10 after the CBI sought time to file additional documents and a list of witnesses to be examined in support of the prosecution version.
