Giving information about cleaning of the Ganga, the CM said his government would ensure the river is cleaned by December 15.
A head of the Kumbh Mela next year, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that very soon Allahabad district will be renamed Prayagraj.
Addressing the media at Circuit House in Allahabad, the Adityanath said, “In the meeting called to review the preparedness of Kumbh, a proposal was given by Akhada Parishad and others regarding changing the name of Allahabad district. UP Governor Ram Naik has also given his consent to the proposal.”
“We also supported the proposal and very soon the name of Allahabad district will be changed to Prayagraj,” he added.
Sources in the state government say the cabinet will give it’s nod to rename the district in the next meeting.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the preparations ahead of Kumbh Mela and said all pending work and projects in the district will be completed by December.
“This Kumbh Mela will have a global outreach in which delegates of all countries that have embassies in India will participate. People from more than 6,00,000 villages across the country will contribute during the Kumbh Mela. We are being given full assistance from the central government,” added the CM.
Yogi Adityanath also said that milk booths, water ATMs, tankers, hand pumps, banks, ATM machines and mobile tower will also be installed at the Kumbh premises for the convenience of people.
