Haryana police arrested 3 in connection of assaulting Muslim-Kashmiri youths

In the Mahendergarh district of Haryana on Friday, the police arrested three accused in connection with the beating of two Muslim students, who returned after paying prayers. Although the victims informed that 15-20 people had been assaulted by them.

23-year-old Aftab Ahmad, a student of Geography at Haryana Central UUniversity and 22-year-old Amjad Ali, are residents of Rajouri of Jammu region. Aftab said in an interaction with ANI, “Me and my friend went to offer Namaz(On Friday) to a mosque. When we came out we saw that some people are following us. When we were about to reach on our bike, a group of 15-20 people started beating us. ”

In this case, Jammu and Kashmir Police told ANI, “Haryana Police has taken cognizance of physical assault on some students of J&K in Mahendragarh, Haryana. In this regard, FIR has been registered under Mahendergarh police station under Section 148/149/341/323 of the IPC. One of our officials is also in touch with the boys. ”

Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti tweeted about this incident. She said,”Shocked & disturbed to hear reports of Kashmiri students being assaulted in Mahendargarh, Haryana. I urge the authorities to investigate & take strict action. @mlkhattar”. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and leader of National Conference Omar Abdullah said,”This is terrible & goes against the spirit of what @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji said from the ramparts of the Red Fort. I hope the authorities in Haryana act quickly against this violence.”
