Vin Diesel- Many European royals have been portrayed on-screen by gorgeous Hollywood actors over the years. Most recently, for example, Princess Diana was played by Naomi Watts. Princess Grace of Monaco was summoned on-screen byNicole Kidman. Queen Elizabeth was portrayed by Helen Mirren. And King George VI was brought to life by Colin Firth. And now, one of those royals’ peers has a big-screen biopic in the works, and he already has an actor in mind to play him: Vin Diesel.
The royal in casting question? Prince Albert, who will be portrayed in Royal Ice, an upcoming feature from Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama will center on “Prince Albert’s quest to form Monaco’s first Olympic competitive bobsledding team.”
While speaking to People, the royal said that he is “a little embarrassed” for the on-screen close-up, and hasn’t “really given that much thought” to which Hollywood hunk might play him.
“I really have no preference,” he said, before nevertheless making a suggestion. “[M]aybe Vin Diesel or someone else who is slightly balding?” (If that is the only criteria Prince Albert has for the actor, may we also suggest Jason Statham, Jude Law, and Stanley Tucci?) And while some of you might balk at the idea of Diesel playing the royal, remember: If you were going to be portrayed in a movie, wouldn’t you want someone a little taller, tanner, and with slightly better bone structure?
Royal Ice, which Prince Albert would like everyone to know “wasn’t [his] idea,” will supposedly be released in 2018—“the 30th anniversary of the team’s first Olympic appearance,” reports People.Vin Diesel
