New Delhi: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s close associate Chhota Shakeel, Monday, rejected the reports which said that the 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind is suffering from gangrene and is unlikely to be cured fully.
Shakeel and senior intelligence officials confirmed to The Times of India that Dawood is fine. Shakeel said, “Aapki agencies ke pass galat khabar hai. Ye sab rumours hain. Bhai bilkul fit hain. Sehatmand hain (Your agencies have wrong information. Dawood is perfectly fit).”
As per the sources, the reports on Dawood being suffering from gangrene came to light when some doctors were allegedly spotted near Cliffton area in Karachi which is Dawood’s purported residence.
The doctors were contemplating to amputate Don’s legs since the poison from gangrene was spreading in his body, reports suggested. The doctors hailed from the Liaquat National Hospital and Combined Military Hospital.
Earlier in December 2015, reports were doing rounds that Dawood was set to bid adieu to the underworld and Chhota Shakeel will head the organised crime syndicate. However, the reports turned out be just rumours.
